
CET platforma Croatia is branch of regional CET network with organizations in Croatia, Serbia, Poland, Macedonia, Slovenia and Montenegro. CET was established as a group of experts from South East Europe with the aim to provide support, assistance, services and expertise in the field of the development of civil society and democratic institutions, civic values, and non-formal education for all citizens, especially young people. CET also deals with advocacy in public policy issues. CET organizes events (round tables, debates, seminars and workshops) on the issues of activism, education, promotion and exchange in the field of human rights, and development of local, regional, European and international relations and cooperation. CET especially promotes the development of creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development (of civil society).
CET also took a role in our local community when it comes to activation of young people in different areas, active citizenship, organizing local events, cooperation with other NGOs in national level but also organizing the international activities in our city in order to make an impact also on local society. On the local level we working on the promotion of human rights, equal opportunities and equality in general. In 2017 we started to organize workshops for kids from elementary school about robotics and using computers in the development of skills of kids. Also, we have local workshops related to the protection of human rights and raising awareness in our community which is small and not so open-minded. From last year we cooperate with City committee for gender equality on a campaign of raising awareness of gender equality and same opportunities and rights of both genders, especially when it comes to employment in public institutions and involvement in decision making bodies.
From 2017. we are member of Local action group Strossmayer in which we lead the process of creation of programme for youth in next budget period. Also, we are members of City council for youth programme which is responsible for creation of programme for youth and young people for the period of 2020. – 2027. in our city. From 2018. we started to cooperate with Croatian employment office on numerous education workshops in order to prepare unemployed people for the job market and for their active role in the job seeking process. In our local activities, we cooperate with local media, local and county Employment office, decision-makers on the local level, media representatives and also other NGOs which as a one of the goal have activation of young people in our local society.
CET platform Croatia cooperated with many organisation from West Balkans and European Union on projects within Youth in Action and other programmes of CoE, EU and other international foundations with topics: social inclusion, youth activism, European awareness, etc. The annual plan of CET Balkan network foresaw activities aiming to include big number of young people in activities of civil organisations and support them in social and professional development. Related to the project, as our country is a new member state of EU, there is huge need for information about labour mobility rights of our citizens within EU, including often issues due to lack in knowledge about rights.
Also CET platforma is a sending organization and have a numerous project as a partner, in 2015. we sent more than 50 our members and young people on the project abroad and thanks to that grow as a organization but also gain some new and educated members which are now involved in our projects and activities. In 2016 we sent more than 100 young people and youth workers from Croatia on international activities, training courses, seminars and youth exchanges in order to give young people opportunity to participate in something new for them and to be actively involved in creation of Europe which will be the place with same rights and opportunities for all citizens, which will be the Europe united in diversity. Number of young people who we are sending on international activities is raising proportionally with the number of our activities and partnerships so in 2017 we sent 140 young people on international activities and in 2018 we had numerous number of partnerships as we improved our capacities when it come to human resources so we sent more than 150 young people on international activities.
